Recalls

A recall is a procedure initiated by the library when one patron needs access to material checked out to another patron. Normal checkout periods are 4 and 8 weeks for students and faculty/staff, respectively. However, a recall can be issued after a minimum of 2 weeks, and the patron then has 1 week to get the item back to the Circulation Desk. The exception to this rule is if a faculty member needs the material for Reserve. In that case, the material must be returned without delay. In either case, if the item is not returned as required by Recall policy, the patron record can be frozen until the item is returned.

To request a recall, please visit the Main Circulation Desk.
