The UNCSA Archives exists as the institutional memory of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and maintains the permanent records of the School. Each department is responsible for managing records they create in accordance with university, state, and federal guidelines; however, Archives staff can assist University employees in understanding those guidelines and managing their records.
The UNC System General Records Retention and Disposition Schedule provides guidance on how long to retain records for legal, fiscal, and historical purposes.
