Film production in the Library

A set of guidelines for using library spaces for production, filming and auditions/casting.

The library is a shared space, which tends to fill up quickly. It is recommended you reserve the space at leas two weeks in advance. In order to shoot or hold auditions/casting in the UNCSA Library and Learning Commons, you must do the following things:

  • Complete any paperwork assigned by your professor
  • Complete the On-Campus Location and Release Form
  • Meet with the University Librarian at least 2 weeks before filming (production only)

Plan at least two weeks ahead to schedule a meeting with the University Librarian. To schedule a meeting simply email or call for an appointment.

Preparing for the Meeting

You should have a sense of following before the meeting:

  • What space you will use
  • Equipment needs
  • Number of staff
  • Times of day. Library closed hours can be accommodated, but must be scheduled.
