New York Times Online - Set Up and Troubleshooting Guide

Having issues with your NYT account or need help setting it up? Try the steps here.

Determine your existing account type

If you're already a reader of the NYT, check your existing account set up to determine if any action is needed before you set up your free, school-affiliated account.

In the top right-hand corner of your NYT browser, select the down arrow to the right of "Account:":

This will pop-out a side bar on the right that should show both your email address and your subscription type. Free accounts that are utilizing the school-access will show your UNCSA email and the type as "News - Group Access." If this is what you see, your account is set up correctly and no further action is needed! See below for other email/account types.
