Printing and Copying

In the Library, anyone can print and/or copy on the 1st and 3rd floor by using the Pharos application.

Download the Pharos App

Android Devices: Google Play

Apple Devices: App Store

First-time setup:

  1. On the startup screen, click the gear icon
  2. Fill in the following fields:
    Server Address: pharos.uncsa.edu
    Port: 443

Upon clicking next you will be taken back to the Log On screen to enter your username (first part of your email address, example “smithj”) and password and Log On.

Use the Pharos website

https://pharos.uncsa.edu/myprintcenter/ using your UNCSA SSO

Two ways to add print jobs to Pharos:
  1. Click on the Upload button from the App or website and select from your device the file you want to print.
  2. Use your UNCSA account and email the file you want to print

Once you have uploaded your file select your print job by clicking the box to the left of it. Select the printer you want to use. Typing LIB will pull up the 1st and 3rd Floor printers. You can also select a printer from a mobile device by selecting the print job, clicking on the QR icon on the top right of the screen and scanning the QR code on the printer.

After selecting a print job the Print Options display at the bottom becomes active and you can choose:

  • Turn Color On/Off
  • Turn Double Sided On/Off
  • Pages per side of paper
  • Number of copies
  • Page range

The printer will automatically select between letter and legal sized and will select B/W printing. Please consult with the Front Desk staff if you need to print something 11 X 17.

Funds

The cost to print one page in Black and White is 10 cents. Color is 20 cents per page. Each student receives $20 in print funds at the beginning of the year. Please see the Front Desk staff if you need funds for additional copies.

Scanning

Scanning is free of charge at copiers on the 1st and 3rd floors. Large book scanners are available in the 1st floor copy room and the 4th floor Music Listening and Viewing room. These scanners can quickly create PDF's in color. They're ideal for scores!
