Graduate Composition for Film and Visual Media

Guide for the graduate concentration in the School of Music

Physical Video Recordings

Our collection includes almost 10,000 DVDs and Blu-rays, as well as almost 3,500 VHS tapes, all in closed stacks. This means you will need to look up the items you want in our online catalog and ask at the Music Library Help Desk to have someone pull them for you.

To find a physical film in the catalog, choose Resource Type from the filters on the left side of your results screen and then choose Video. The description after "Available at" (in green) will tell you the format of the item and the item number. Provide that number to the person working at the Music Library Help Desk and they will retrieve the item for you.

You have several options for playing DVDs and Blu-rays:

  • Public computers throughout the Library
  • Viewing stations in the Media Lab on the 4th floor
  • Portable DVD/Blu-ray players available to check out at the Music Library Help Desk
  • If your laptop does not have a disk drive, check out an external drive from either the Library Help Desk or the Music Library Help Desk
