Library Toolkit for Faculty

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows the library to request needed items not held in the library's collection.  It is open to all current faculty, staff and students.  The procedure is simple; just fill out the appropriate form, the Access Services staff will request the item and notify you when it comes in.  You'll pick up the item at the first floor circulation desk as well as return it there.

ILL loan periods vary from 1 to 4 weeks and you will be advised of the due date at the time you pick up the loaned item.  Delivery time is dependent on the lending library so be aware that you may not get the material overnight or in time for class tomorrow.  If you need to renew the item, contact the Access Services staff to request the renewal. Not all libraries grant renewals of interlibrary loan material or of specific formats.

We try to request materials from lending libraries who do not charge a fee but if there is a cost involved in requesting the item, you will be notified of the cost before the request is sent.

Request Materials for Purchase

The library welcomes faculty requests for materials.  We welcome your input so please feel free to review the materials in your subject area in the library.  You can check the library's holdings through the online catalog or just walk into the library and peruse the shelves.  The link below is a form that you may use to request materials or simply email a staff member to request a purchase.
