New JSTOR Collection
April 6th, 2011The library is pleased to announce the addition of a new JSTOR collection. Arts and Sciences V builds on the current collections in the library’s subscription and adds new titles in the areas of art and art history, language and literature, philosophy, religion and the classics. Access is available through the current JSTOR link on the library website.
NCLIVE
August 23rd, 2010, last updated March 2nd, 2011NCLIVE is a partnership of almost 200 North Carolina libraries that provides online resources free of charge to patrons of these affiliated libraries. Each participating library has its own password which changes periodically. To obtain the new UNCSA password, login here or contact the Reference Librarian.
The password is required for off-campus access to the materials available through NCLIVE which include e-books, journal and newspaper articles and encyclopedias.
PBS Videos through NCLIVE
February 15th, 2011, last updated February 16th, 2011PBS Videos through NCLIVE are now available through the Semans Library online catalog. Simply search by the title of the video, the keywords PBS video or the subject itself, choose the video you wish to view and click on the link for View the video (UNCSA).

ARTstor Mobile available for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
December 8th, 2010The ARTstor Digital Library is now accessible to registered ARTstor users through the iPad, iPhone, and the iPod Touch, providing read-only features such as searching and browsing, zooming, and viewing saved image groups. We are also introducing the Flashcard View for ARTstor Mobile, which allows users to test their knowledge by viewing the image without textual information, and then flipping the image to reveal the image record.
Now available: Complete Catalogue of Lincoln Kirstein
November 23rd, 2010The Semans Library is pleased to announce the addition of a new dance database, the Complete Catalogue of Lincoln Kirstein. Lincoln Kirstein was a co-founder with George Balanchine of the School of American Ballet and the New York City Ballet. This fully-searchable database contains not only excerpts and illustrations from the complete catalogue of his published works but also includes biographical information, essays about Kirstein by leading writers on American culture and resources for the study of his work.
New Design database: the Berg Fashion Library
October 1st, 2010The Semans Library is pleased to announce the addition of a new Design database, the Berg Fashion Library. The Berg Fashion Library contains the full text of the Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion, other Berg fashion e-books, over 1600 images and other reference material. It is accessible through the library website under the Design databases. It should prove valuable to costume studies.
